After your long day’s work, you jump onto the couch to watch your favorite channel on Roku. But the Roku Remote is not responding. What to do now? This will lead you to determine the error of the Roku at whatever point it happens whenever just without anyone else’s input. To fix any kind of Roku Remote related issue, let’s first understand the type of Roku Remote you have.

The Roku Remote comes in two different models:

          Standard IR (infrared ) remote

          Enhanced Point-Anywhere remote

To know the type of remote you have, it’s simple. You can remove the cover of the battery compartment and look for a pairing button.

A Roku Remote without a pairing button is a Standard IR (infrared ) remote and with a pairing, the button is an Enhanced point-anywhere remote.

Fix Standard IR (infrared ) Roku Remote issues:

#Step 1: Check for infrared signal blocked between Roku Remote and Roku device

There should not be any object between your Standard IR remote and Roku device. If there is any obstruction of signal, the Roku Remote won’t work. When you think that remote is not responding well, always point the remote directly to the front of the Roku device. You may also try to move the remote left or right to be able to point directly at the front of the Roku device.

#Step 2: Try reseating the batteries

After performing Step 1, if the Roku device is not responding to button presses on remote, let’s try to remove the batteries from your remote. Wait for about 10 seconds and reinsert them.

#Step 3: Replace batteries

If your Roku device is still unresponsive to button presses, try to replace the batteries in your Roku Remote.

#Step 4: Get a new Roku Remote

After performing all the above steps, if your Roku device is not responding to button presses on remote, you may need to replace the Roku Remote. You may buy the remote from the Roku accessories store.

Fix Enhanced Point-Anywhere Roku Remote issues:

#Step 1: Restart Roku device and Roku Remote

          Open the battery compartment and remove batteries from Roku remote.

          Remove the power cable connecting to Roku device. Wait for about 5 to 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable to the Roku device.

          When you see the Roku logo on the TV screen, reinsert the batteries in the Roku Remote. Wait at least 30 seconds to see if the Roku Remote establishes a connection with your Roku device.

#Step 2: Repair the Roku Remote

          Open the battery compartment and remove batteries from Roku remote.

          Remove the power cable connecting to Roku device. Wait for about 5 to 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable to the Roku device.

          When you see the Roku logo on the TV screen, reinsert the batteries in the Roku Remote.

          Press and hold the pairing button inside the battery compartment of the Roku Remote for 5 seconds or until you see the pairing indicator light on the remote begin to flash.

          If the pairing indicator light doesn’t flash, try again.

          If the pairing indicator light still doesn’t flash, replace the batteries and repeat steps from the beginning of Step 2 until the Roku Remote is successfully paired.

#Step 4: Replace the Roku Remote

If the steps given above does not fix the Roku Remote issue, you can try replacing the remote by visiting the Roku website (https://www.roku.com/accessories ).
